Private Sessions

Once upon a time, ALL yoga was practiced with one teacher and one student.  Group classes like those most of us know and love are simply a result of yoga’s growing popularity and the desire to make it more accessible to everyone.

There are many benefits to private yoga lessons in the modern world, some of which include:

  1. Reducing or eliminating any level of intimidation associated with attending a group class as a new(er) student. In one or two private sessions, I can prepare you for what to expect in class and give you enough basics to make you feel comfortable.  You may love your one-on-one practice so much that you decide to keep it instead of (or in addition to) your group classes.
  2. Designing a practice to accommodate any injuries, health concerns, or other limitations you may have. Maybe you’ve put off attending your first yoga class because you’re concerned about re-injury. Working one-on-one with a professional will give you the opportunity to learn valuable modifications and postures to avoid for now when you are in a group class.
  3. You have specific goals you are trying to achieve. If you are coming to yoga for a specific reason, whether physical, spiritual, mental, or emotional, and would like some guidance on how to modify  and tailor your group class to get the most out of it for you, private lessons are a great supplement to get your head in the right place.
